A crown can be made made of a variety of materials and new materials are being introduced continually. The most common material used is Porcelain bonded to precious metal. The precious metal base is made at the laboratory and layers of porcelain are the applied over it.
Conventional bridges are made of porcelain fused to metal or ceramics. There are other types of bridges too. A cantilever bridge is held in the mouth by one or more crowns. A Maryland bridge is made out of a metal framework with wings on both sides. These wings are bonded to the back of the existing teeth. The false teeth are bonded to the framework. This type of bridge is also known as the resin-bonded bridge.

White fillings are chemically bonded to your tooth and are created from layers of filling material. This allows a close match to the natural shape and colour of your own teeth.
